Set One:
Luke Polipnick, Guitar + Laptop
Minneapolis debut of Polipnick’s piece; a combination of delicate, processed classical guitar textures and glitchy, pounding drill’n’bass. A very dynamic piece, it is alternately dark and bright, cold and warm, fragile and violent. It is fairly “classical” in design, in terms of the flow of events and contrasts. Luke will be improvising and playing some pre-conceived material against the computer track.
Set Two:
Luke Polipnick, Guitar; Erik Fratzke, Bass; Tim Glenn, Drums

More about Chris McIntyre: Brooklyn-based trombonist and composer Chris McIntyre’s iQuit Music Series performance is this Minnesota native’s first-ever solo set in Minneapolis. Born and raised in Mound, McIntyre moved to New York nearly 10 years ago for graduate school and subsequent professional activities. Before leaving, however, he was an active part of the mid-90’s Minneapolis music scene. He was a frequent guest of the Sensational Joint Chiefs in performance and is heard on a couple of tracks on the band’s much acclaimed LP Mornin’ Train. He was a regular participant in the weekly Fresh Squeez improv parties at The Front, and in later years, an occasional member of the Afrobeat/improv orchestra The Dijonnette’s with whom he’s heard on the Crossfaded Vol.1 release.
Featured at iQuit is his own work stuplimity no.3 for solo trombone and laptop. stuplimity no.3 continues a series of works that explores the process of temporal and sonic perception with the qualities of the trombone as the medium. The work uses an interactive software environment to capture and process sound, creating textural and thematic material that recurs throughout but in varying degrees of transformation and temporality. The work was first performed at the March MATA Festival in Brooklyn.
